Strength in Movement and Community

Kate – Finding Strength in Movement and Community
If there is one word that describes Kateřina Uhlířová (Kate), Yungo’s Office Manager, it is energy. Whether she is keeping things running smoothly at the office or leading a high intensity Body Attack class, Kate is all about movement, motivation, and making people feel supported.
Kate’s love for fitness started early. From the age of three, she was constantly in motion, doing aerobics, playing handball, and trying just about every sport she could. But after a few injuries, she realized a professional sports career was not in the cards. Later, she joined a gym with a friend just to try it out and stumbled upon a Body Attack class. It did not take long before she found herself drawn to the energy of Body Attack, and that is where she truly fell in love.
“I didn’t even know how to be in the gym at first,” she laughs. “But once I joined the class, I loved the community, the music, the energy. It was addictive.”
Her competitive nature pushed her to go further. She decided to become an instructor. “My first class was actually a substitution,” she remembers. “I was so nervous because I’m a perfectionist, but the feeling afterward was incredible. When you’re an instructor, you give everything you have, and the energy you get back from people fuels you.”

Balancing her Yungo role, fitness classes, a dog, and home life is not easy, but Kate says her secret is support.
“I’m lucky to have a husband, friends, and family who cheer me on. They help me keep everything in balance.”
For Kate, teaching fitness is not just about exercise, it is about people.

“Small victories make me happy, when someone tries a harder option, smiles at the end of class, or tells me they feel better mentally. It is not just fitness anymore, it is about creating a safe space for everyone to show up as they are.”
She makes an effort to know her class members personally, to make them feel comfortable sharing if they are tired or need an adjustment. “We are in it together. I want them to see that if I can do it, they can too.”
Interestingly, her role at Yungo and her fitness life influence each other.

“As an instructor, you only have a short time to say something important and make it clear. That helped me in my job, to communicate better, read people, and understand what they need. Both roles are about connection.”
And her advice to the Yungo team?
“Find something you truly enjoy. It doesn’t have to be extreme, go dancing, take a walk, try yoga, just something that makes you happy. When you do it for fun, it stops feeling like an obligation and starts giving you energy.”
Whether in the gym or at Yungo, Kate embodies our values of Unity and Agility. Her ability to adapt, stay motivated, and lift others up brings people together, creating an environment where everyone feels supported, moves forward, and achieves more as a team.
